Giving back
The Monkey Flower Group recently launched Flowers to Care, a service which send fresh flower arrangements to Cope Family Center here in Napa to be enjoyed by members of the community. This morning Design*Sponge shared FTC as a gift idea for St. Valentine's Day (or just because). Thanks so much to all those taking a look and sending flowers!

While I Was Out
While I was away, the folks over at Design*Sponge were kind enough to share one of my designs in their series of Thanksgiving centerpiece ideas. Much thanks to D*S and everyone who checked it out!

Pins and Ribbons to Share
On this fine first day of September it seems that Fall is beginning to reveal itself in the form of a wealth of colorful berries, seeds, and leaves. I rounded up a sampling of the season's finest for a little DIY project, which (to my delight) you can see more of over at Design*Sponge. Happy sharing!

Sugar and flowers
Jen Smith of The Nomadic Oven is definitely one of those amazingly kind, talented, and generally awesome people I mentioned I am going to miss here in Vermont. To see one small example of how she transforms simple local ingredients (like these flowers I rounded up) into works of art, take a jaunt over to Design*Sponge! Thank you, Jen, for your fantastic craftsmanship! And thank you, Design*Sponge, for sharing it!

Soaking It Up
I can't say how happy and honored I feel to be a part of Design*Sponge today!!! For those few readers who are new to D*S (Mom? Grandma?), check it out! For those making their way here via D*S, welcome!
Incidentally, this photo shows how we've been whittling down our belongings (pictured here) in preparation for the imminent cross-country road trip back to Napa. Turns out that in a pinch cardboard boxes make surprisingly functional (and pretty) furniture.
