Easter / Spring flowers at Oxbow Public Market this Friday 3/29/13

The Flower Cart will be up and running this Friday 3/29/13, loaded to capacity with centerpieces, bud vases, and paper wrapped bouquets appropriate for the Easter table, and spring celebrations in general.

There will be TWO color options! Some, including local carnations, lambium, thalias, icelandic poppies, and freesia, will be in yellows, greens, and whites. Others, including that fabled lilac from Wild Boar Farms, ranunculus, hellebores, and tulips, will be in shades of lavender and peaches.

Hope to see you there!

Soft and springy

I'm realizing that as busy as things feel now, it's only going to get crazier as summer approaches, so I'm making a concerted effort to post more photos : ). This arrangement includes hellebores from Napa, roses from Petaluma, olive from Wooden Valley, dogwood from Tracy, fern from Watsonville, Clivia from Santa Barbara, and ranunculus from Pescadero.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of working on a Easter photo shoot now up on Style Me Pretty Living. Thanks to all the other vendors who contributed, and thanks Jessamyn for capturing everything so beautifully! I can't say enough good things about these people and local products:

Gardeny goodness

This is our garden's best time of year, and I've been picking from it a lot, especially for smaller orders like these. Included here are pieris, daffodils, sharon fern, hellebores, maple, and clematis from Napa (us : ), carnations and alstroemeria from Watsonville (two of my favorite floral misfits), freesia and ranunculus from Pescadero, and parrot tulips, mustard, willow, and vetch from Petaluma.

These were taken west of Petaluma, near the coast . . .

Another Oxbow Thursday! 3/21/13! With lilac!

Well, the MFG Flower Cart at the Oxbow Public Market was such a hit and so much fun last week, that we're doing it again this Thursday!

This week's arrangements will feature sustainably grown lilac from Oak Hill Farm over in Glen Ellen. How exciting is that?!

I like to keep a closer eye on lilac than I can up at Dean & DeLuca, so the MFG Flower Cart at the Oxbow will be the only place to find it this week. If you're up in St. Helena and want a special delivery, let me know and we'll see what we can do : ).

I should mention, this photo is from the archives and pictures lilac from Wild Boar Farm, which we're expecting more of in a couple weeks, and Elizabeth, who is currently working a tug running between Philadelphia and Puerto Rico. We're not sure when she'll be back, but hopefully soon!

If you're going to San Francisco . . .

. . . or a flower child themed party on Stinson Beach, you'd better have something for your hair. This something includes statice from Watsonville, waxflower from Oceanside, and lambs ears, lavender, and lichen from Napa, all wound together with naturally dyed silk ribbon.

Pop-up shop at Oxbow Public Market tomorrow!

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, The Monkey Flower Group will be rolling out (literally) its new little pop-up shop at Oxbow Public Market from 10AM-5PM tomorrow! I'll have lots of locally grown goodness in traditional greens, as well as other spring palettes : ).

Sorry for the short notice - I wasn't expecting to have finished the flower cart today (and really it still more like a beta version of the flower cart). I hope to see many of you there! I'd love your feedback on the set-up before fine-tuning.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Fresh flowers at Dean & DeLuca!

***3/4/13 6AM update: Just 1 bouquet and 3 bud vases left at Dean & DeLuca in St. Helena. I'll be refreshing this afternoon once I've returned from an event delivery. Sorry for the lapse in supply! xo, Jaime***

With my little Instagram freakout over the carnations from Watsonville, I forgot to mention these fresh flowers, including daffodils from Napa, parrot tulips from Petaluma, lisianthus and carnations from Watsonville, and snapdragons and freesia from Pescadero, now at Dean & DeLuca in St. Helena : ).
