Some of you may remember me promising never to mention these amaryllis again, but really I never did such a thing (you just wished I had). In any case, this post will be their last hurrah. I've ruthlessly harvested every remaining bloom, and will be passing the bulbs on to friends in preparation for the big move next month (!!!).

Enough Already!
Okay, most of you are probably pretty tired of hearing about these adopted amaryllis, and bubblegum pink is not really my favorite color either. But as long as the little troopers keep blooming and blooming and blooming like this I feel like I have some sort of duty to keep sharing . . .

Ta Da!
Here they are in all their full blown glory, backed up by some awesome, early forsythia. Not too bad for the food waste cove. Not bad at all. Coincidentally, these guys look great with the card my mom sent for Easter (below).
Mom always finds the best cards.

Urban Flower Farming
The first "crop" of salvaged amaryllis is looking pretty promising here in our little kitchen growing grounds (above). Most buds are still in that exciting "I'm green now but just you wait" stage, but some are beginning to reveal a little color (below).

Bulb/Blog Bonanza!!!
In the last 24 hours I have happily endured way more excitement than I am accustomed to. First, an online flower seed retailer brought all its unsold bulbs to be composted at ICP, which may or may not be why there are now some 30 odd amaryllis bulbs in our apartment (above). Then, The Monkey Flower Group's winter photo shoot was featured on the venerable Style Me Pretty. Weeeeee!

Lindseys for Lindsay
These lovely "Lindsey" roses are dumpster divas rescued from an untimely demise at the market. The color is so cheery and bright, it reminded me of something my sister Lindsay would fancy. Hope you enjoy, sis! I miss you!

Sticky-Sweet
Today two houseplants (a cymbidium orchid and a begonia, above) combine in a sticky-sweet and adorable little arrangement- just the thing to start off the St. Valentine's Day season.
