A Good Time Was Had By All!

It was great to see so many people at the Napa Farmer's Market yesterday!

In case you still want to stock up on produce for the winter (apples! squashes! nuts!) there will be one more Tuesday market on October 30th. I'll be there buying, not selling : ). So if you'd like to order any cards, acorn ornaments, garlands, wreaths, or flowers for the holidays, feel free to contact me directly to schedule a delivery.

Thank you, everyone, for a wonderful season!

Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!!!

When I last heard from Liz her vessel was somewhere near Nunivak Island (google it) on the way back from a stint working in the Arctic Circle. But today is her birthday, and since I can't call her up to say how proud I am of everything she's accomplished in the last year, I'm saying it here. Happy birthday, Liz! You are one inspiring woman.

A Hawaiian Chuppah Wedding

S&J were married in a beautiful ceremony incorporating traditions from their Hawaiian and Jewish backgrounds, receptively. The chuppah was decorated with hundreds of paper cranes lovingly folded by the bride's family (hundreds more adorned the reception, for a total of the traditional 1,001 cranes), and instead of bouquets, the bridesmaids wore leis composed of locally grown flowers and herbs, a nod to the couple's shared love of the culinary arts. Calla lilies, a favorite flower from the bride's childhood gardens in Hawaii, were also prominent throughout the flower arrangements. It was an honor to be a part of such a beautiful and heartfelt celebration. Congratulations, S&J!

A Classic White Wedding, With Antlers

O&G's wedding was both beautifully classic and genuinely unique, thanks to many personal elements, like the groom's awesome getaway car, the box vases made from the couple's old redwood fence, antler table decorations collected on many hunting trips, and lovely paper goods letter-pressed by the classy and creative Paper Bash with the groom's own artwork. Congratulations, O&G! And thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful celebration!

Skipping Ahead

At the rate I've been going, I could be posting about peonies well into December. So once again I'm skipping ahead, this time with some full on late California summer goodness. Pictured here are arrangements for a second wedding celebration (she's from here, he's from Scotland, where they were married a year ago) including Japanese anemones from Petaluma, fennel and valley oak from Napa, sunflowers from Half Moon Bay, and delphinium from Pescadero. Congratulations, L&N! May you have many, many more happy years to come.
