Late summer texture

. . . . all harvested from the home's beautiful gardens and ranch.

Giving thanks

Thank you to everyone who expressed concern following Sunday's earthquake. We are all safe and feel fortunate to have not had much real damage. Our thoughts are with those who fared worse, and our sincere thanks go out to the first responders who worked to restore safety at risk of their own.

Berry good times

We're still going like crazy with all kinds of summer beauty that I can't wait to share once time allows. Until then, here are some fun little arrangements including strawberries, zinnias, and carnations from Napa (thank you, Hudson Ranch for planting so many beautiful carnations!!) and garden roses from Santa Rosa.

Summer abundance

Last night we enjoyed the company of Ben's uncles, who brought beautiful flowers and delicious herbs from their garden, a perfect complement to Ben's roast chicken (he did it on the grill!), tomato salad (made with Big Ranch Farm loot!) and boiled new potatoes (from my god mother's garden!).  Lately I've felt surrounded by abundance of all kinds - good work, beauty, love, produce - and I feel so lucky.

New Beginnings

It's been a while since I last posted, to put it mildly, but this arrangement celebrating a new baby, with buttery yellow peonies from Fremont, 'Easy Living' roses, olive, and California buckeye from Napa, scabiosa from Half Moon Bay, poppies from Watsonville, and viburnum from Petaluma, seemed an appropriate place to jump back on the wagon.

The past year has been full of new chapters - we moved to a cozy house in town with plenty of room for growing some special perennials and over the past months have been setting up shop in a little space down the street (seen here in forgiving fuzzy focus). There's still a lot of work to do, but once we're a little more settled will share all and invite you to come help warm it up : ).
