More from May
And here are some arrangements from the last day of May, with full summer colors, for The MFG Flower Cart which now makes an appearance down at Oxbow Public Market most Thursdays (call 707-418-8615 or email info@themonkeyflowergroup.com for current schedule : ). The arrangements featured oncidium orchids, yarrow, carnations, and veronica from Watsonville, scabiosa from Pacifica, and privet, grasses, rosemary, and arbutus from Napa.
May I beg your pardon . . .

Late Spring Burgundies and Browns
Thus tipping point between Spring and Summer is one of my favorite times for flowers!!! Here are some rich, earthy centerpieces from this week featuring hellebores, kangaroo paw, and scabiosa from Half Moon Bay, peonies from Fremont, viburnum and alstroemeria from Petaluma, roses from Sonoma, and buckeye from Napa.

Bearded beauties
I'm incredibly lucky to live down the road from what must be one of the world's most magical places . . . the Napa Country Iris Gardens. If you're not able to go yourself, check out their amazingly comprehensive website and online catalog.
Here are a couple recent arrangements featuring bearded iris I begged off the farm (they specialize in rhizomes, not cuts), along with allium, clematis, hellebores, buckeye, lamium, artichoke, lavender, sage, maiden hair fern, pea tendrils, and maple whirly birds from our garden.
Happy Spring!!!

Easter / Spring flowers at Oxbow Public Market this Friday 3/29/13
There will be TWO color options! Some, including local carnations, lambium, thalias, icelandic poppies, and freesia, will be in yellows, greens, and whites. Others, including that fabled lilac from Wild Boar Farms, ranunculus, hellebores, and tulips, will be in shades of lavender and peaches.
Hope to see you there!

Soft and springy
I'm realizing that as busy as things feel now, it's only going to get crazier as summer approaches, so I'm making a concerted effort to post more photos : ). This arrangement includes hellebores from Napa, roses from Petaluma, olive from Wooden Valley, dogwood from Tracy, fern from Watsonville, Clivia from Santa Barbara, and ranunculus from Pescadero.
